Korma
The urban settlement of Korma is situated at the junction of the Sozh and the
Kormianka 110 kilometers away from Gomel. Korma has been known since 1596 as
a locality of Rechitsa powiat of Minsk voivodeship in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Remarkable archaeological sites of the district are as follows: ancient settlements
in Voznesensk, Lunacharsky, Vornovka, Zolotomino, Ziatkovichi, Dobrich, Kazimirovo,
Kostiukovka, and Strumen. Besides, tourists may see the moundless burial ground
in Strumen, the monuments of wooden architecture (the 19th century house and
barn in Voshchanki), the 19th century house in Zhabin, and the ruins of St Nicholas'
church (1832-1836).
