Lelchitsy
The urban settlement of Lelchitsy is situated on the Ubort river 215 kilometers
away from Gomel. It was fisst mentioned in 1569.
The Church of the Holy Intercession (1797) in the village
of Pribolovichi is the monument of wooden architecture. In the villages of Borovoye,
Miloshevichi, Zabolotye, Dzerzhinsk, Glushkovichi tourists can find pagan cross-like
stone images. In 1995 the Church of the Holy Dormition was built in
Miloshevichi. The Stalin Line Mozyr Fortified Zone crosses
the territory of Lelchitsy district (70 kilometers long, 45 permanent fire positions).
Nature is extremely beautiful here. There are numerous natural reserves in
this area: the Bukchansky Biological Reserve (national status), local
hydrological reserves Berin, Zaruchevye, Zasadishche, Lokhnitskoye, Lelchitskoye,
Lugovoye, Manchitskoye, Nevitsa, Rechitsa, Topilovskoye; and the part of the
Pripyatsky National Park. In the village of Danilevichi you will find the tsar-oak,
the natural monument of national status.
